Evolution of Internet Technologies: From Web 1.0 to Web 3.0

Hello and Welcome Back!๐Ÿ˜€

Today we are looking at the evolution of internet technologies.๐Ÿ’ป

The internet is very important. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t be able to survive without the internet today.๐Ÿ˜ Over the last few years internet technologies have been consistently evolving which is what has made them as useful and as valuable as they are now.

The internet has come along way since it was first launched. To understand this evolution and change in internet technologies we are going to split it into the three categories These are Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0.

Web 1.0  ๐Ÿ•ธ

Known as the read only web and is the original internet technology. Everything we do today was built off it. Web 1.0 was very simple, and you could only read and view content. Interaction was not a thing. Examples of Web 1.0 are static websites and personal sites.

Web 2.0 ๐Ÿ•ธ

The next step in the evolution of internet technologies. It is known as the social web or the read-write web. Web 2.0 websites are not as static as web 1.0 and would be described as more dynamic. They are more collaborative and allow people to share, create and work together on content. By doing this Web 2.0 allows for more user generated content. Examples of Web 2.0 include Wikipedia, Facebook and YouTube.

Web 3.0 ๐Ÿ•ธ

The future of the internet. It focuses on the meaning of data rather than just gathering data. Web 3.0 is more advanced than Web 2.0 and it provides a more relevant and personalised experience for users. It is powered by different technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. Examples include are Twine and Siri.

Is the South East of Ireland a good place to invest for a tech firm?

What do you think, Yes or No. Read on to find out if you are right. Hello everyone and Welcome back to my blog.๐Ÿ˜€ Today we are looking at whether the southeast of Ireland is a good place for tech companies to invest in. The southeast of Ireland is becoming a very attractive place for tech companies to invest in and is currently the home of many established tech companies such as Datapac, Innovate, Sonru, Netwatch, Redhat and TSSG. Below are some reasons why these firms decided to invest in the Southeast of Ireland. Reason Number One: Ireland’s Southeast has the fastest growing economy in Europe. According to ISEDO the Southeast of Ireland was ranked first as the most competitive region in Ireland. The CSO also named the location as Number one in productivity growth in Ireland from 2010 to 2017. Reason Number Two: The southeast has cheaper financial costs๐Ÿ’ธ for a company compared to Dublin. This means a tech company can have more money to be flexible with and in turn he...

Cybersecurity for Small Businesses

Hello everyone!๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome back to my eight & final blog.๐Ÿ˜†   Today, we are going to explore the area of cybersecurity๐Ÿ‘ฎ for small businesses.   Cybersecurity is the process of reducing the risk of a cyber-attack. Its main function is to protect the devices, services and hard drives that organisations use from theft, damage or viruses. Keeping a small business protected from cyber-attacks is very important. A cyber security incident can have many negative impacts for a business. These include data breaches, loss of clients, lost productivity, brand reputation and many more. An interesting stat that I read the other day stated that 60% of small businesses that suffer from a cyberattack shut down within six months after the incident.๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ’ฅ This highlights how important it is for a small business to focus on cybersecurity. Here are some cybersecurity tips for a small business:๐Ÿ’ก 1.       Train employees in the area of cybersecurity. ...
